The park is situated in the Devikulam taluk and was originally established to protect the nilgiri Tahr. The Anamudi peak has height of 2695 M is located in the southern region of the park. The park is divided into three regions the cave area, the buffer area and the tourism area. Visitors are allowed in the tourism area, which is in the Rajamalai region.
