WILDLIFE
Flamingo, Duck, Bar-headed goose, sandpiper, Plover, Ruddy Shelduck, Gull, Tern, White-bellied Sea Eagle, Dolphins, Fishig Cat, Blackbuck and Chital.

The sanctuary area covers part of Chilika Lake and the surrounding shore & hinterland. A narrow sand bar separates the lake from the Bay of Bengal. The sanctuary is famous for a wide variety of migrant as well as resident shore-birds. Sometimes dolphins can be seen at the mouth of the lake.
